River Lily Inn Bed & Breakfast in Daytona Beach, FL
Located on the Intracoastal Halifax River in the Holly Hill/Daytona Beach area, the River Lily Inn Bed and Breakfast is housed in an historic 1888-built home that is indicative of the grandness of old Florida. Surrounded by one-and-a-half acres of stately palm and oak trees, the two-story house has functioned as a B&B only since 2008 and has quickly gained popularity with visitors who would prefer not to be in the high-rise condominiums and chain hotels that are so popular at the beach area of Daytona. The inn was named for the commercial lilies that once grew on the site.
The house includes 3,750 square feet of space and there is an addition 1,250 square foot carriage house on the property as well. Guests can choose from six lovingly-appointed guest rooms during their stay at the River Lily Inn. The River Lily Room, which faces the Intracoastal Halifax River, includes sweeping views, a king bed, jetted tub and separate shower, and a pleasant sitting area. The Sea Breeze, which also has a water view, features a queen bed, a jetted tub that overlooks the river, separate shower, and a spacious veranda with French doors. The Gardens View Room provides just that – an excellent view of the property’s garden. Suitable for three guests, it has a king bed and a daybed, separate sitting area, and a combination shower/tub. The Hide-a-way is cozy and just right for a romantic evening, with a king-sized bed and private veranda with garden view. Moon River includes a king bed, tub with shower, and the two skylights in the ceiling provide lots of natural light. The least expensive room, the Harbor Breeze, is situated on the first floor and is handicapped accessible. It includes a queen bed and shower and can be accessed privately or through the main house.
Each room includes luxurious linens and towels, flat screen TVs with cable access, DVD player, high-speed wireless internet, a clock radio, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, and a full-length mirror. Additional inn amenities include a lovely heart-shaped inground swimming pool inspired by Jane Mansfield; complimentary pool towels; a guest refrigerator stocked with soft drinks, water, and ice cream novelties; local or national newspaper delivered to your door; DVD and book library; board games and playing cards; a garment steamer; and free local calls. Room extras are available upon request including things like fresh flowers, chocolates, and other goodies.
Specials and packages are available at the time of notable Daytona events including races while other packages are offered during certain holiday seasons. Weddings are welcome at the River Lily Inn Bed and Breakfast and the outside grounds can accommodate up to 150 guests for a gala reception. The inn’s proprietors can help make all the arrangements including securing an officiant and coordinating vendors for flowers and food.
Children are welcome at the River Lily Inn but the B&B
does not currently accommodate pets. Plans for a separate pet facility are
in the works.
